It's that time of year again. Time to make the exodus from the north to the south, Provence to be exact. Time to drive the dog and car full of belongings from other travels and adventures. Time to start all the home improvement plans. Time to buy more 2003-2005 Burgundy wine for my Provence wine cave. Time to start my vegetable garden before it gets too hot.

"On the Road Again"

Last day in Venice
This happens to be my favorite house in Venice. I was completely drawn to its secret beauty. Then I asked a merchant about its past and the woman said,'Ohh, they have said that there have been many murders and suicides in that house..but only involving men.....' With the rich Venetian history of folly and insanity, I try to imagine its interior and what the stories the Sienna red walls could tell. Good bye, Venice. Till the next voyage.....

A Room with a View
Venice can be a daunting place to look for a hotel...Most of them are very expensive and have that talent of putting old grandma's upholstery on the walls..Not that we do not like Venetian , but my husband and I prefer smaller, more intimate setting to put our suitcases and silk chiffon Rue duMail dresses. After lots of researching on the Internet, I found a beautiful hotel called, CA MARIA ADELE.

Canal Fever!
It felt good to finally smell the foul sewer stench of the Venice Canals. It is like that mixture of pollution and salt when one exits out of LAX. There is only one kind of stink in Venice but boy, does it smell wicked. I love being on the water...I could not for the life of me get my husband to take a gondola. Sure, it is tacky..but in a good embarrassing way. If Woody Allen could do it, my husband should be able to do it to please his wife. AS the saying goes, 'one must chose their battles ' in married life. Oh well, next time...
